U.S. Shipping & Customs Policy

At Poetonic, I am proud to offer Complimentary International Shipping via UPS on all original artworks and fine art prints. My goal is to ensure your art arrives safely, quickly, and with full transparency regarding international borders.

1. Free International Shipping

Standard international shipping is included in the price of every purchase.

  • Carrier: I ship exclusively with UPS Worldwide Express/Saver for the fastest transit from my studio in Ireland (typically 3–5 business days).

  • Tracking: You will receive a live UPS tracking number via email once your order is dispatched.

2. Duty-Free Status (U.S. Only)

As of late 2025, the U.S. has implemented broad reciprocal tariffs on many imported goods. However, Original Art and Fine Art Prints are legally exempt from these taxes under the "Berman Amendment" (informational materials).

To ensure you are not charged the 15% import tax, I document all shipments under the following HTS codes:

  • Original Works: (Hand-painted/drawn) – Duty Free

  • Fine Art Prints: (Limited edition/posters) – Duty Free

3. UPS Customs Processing Fees

While I cover 100% of the shipping costs and the art itself is duty-free, U.S. Customs now requires formal clearance for every package entering the country (following the August 29, 2025, suspension of the De Minimis threshold).

Because UPS acts as your customs broker to speed up delivery, they charge a small administrative service fee:

  • Entry Preparation/Brokerage Fee: Typically $10–$25 USD.

  • Payment: This is a courier service fee, not a tax. UPS will contact you via email or text to collect this fee before or at the time of delivery. You can avoid "C.O.D. fees" by paying this through the UPS tracking link once the item clears customs.

4. Shipping & Insurance

  • Dispatch: Orders are securely packaged and dispatched within 2 business days.

  • Protection: Each piece is shipped in professional-grade, moisture-resistant packaging.

  • Insurance: All shipments are fully insured. If your art arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging before opening and contact me at hello@poetonic.com within 48 hours.

Summary for Collectors: Your shipping is free and your art is duty-free. The only potential out-of-pocket cost is a small UPS administrative fee for processing federal paperwork, which is now mandatory for all U.S. imports as of 2025.

Note for Combined Orders (Zines + Art)

If you are purchasing a Zine alongside an Original Artwork or Print, please note:

  • Automatic UPS Upgrade: While individual zines are typically shipped via An Post Standard, any order containing an artwork or print is automatically upgraded to UPS Worldwide Service so your items arrive together securely.

  • Squarespace Checkout: Due to a technicality in how Squarespace displays shipping profiles, your checkout screen may default to "An Post Standard" when both items are in your cart. Please disregard this label. Your entire order will be dispatched via UPS as part of my complimentary shipping service for collectors. Important Note for Combined Orders (Zines + Art)
